We bake every morning
the way our families
always have.
Pan dulce, conchas, tamales, and coffee — made fresh daily from recipes passed down through generations in the Huasteca Potosina region of Mexico.
Every item is prepared fresh each morning — no leftovers, no shortcuts.
Authentic techniques from the Huasteca Potosina region, preserved and lovingly practiced.
A warm space for neighbors, friends, and families to share a meal together.
Our Story
Rooted in the Huasteca
Potosina, Now in Oxford
La Huasteca Potosina is more than a bakery — it is a piece of home, transported to the heart of Oxford, Alabama. Our recipes come from the Huasteca region of San Luis Potosí, where baking has been a daily ritual for generations.
We arrive before sunrise to knead, shape, and bake every batch by hand. Our conchas carry the same crumbly sugar crust our abuelas made. Our tamales are wrapped the way they have always been — in banana leaves, with care. When you walk in, you are not just a customer. You are part of our familia.

Loved by the Oxford Community
These conchas taste exactly like the ones I had growing up in San Luis Potosí. I drive out of my way just to stop here on my morning commute.
The café de olla is incredible, and the staff treats you like family. This place has become our Sunday morning tradition.
I ordered a tres leches cake for my mother's birthday and it was perfect. Moist, not too sweet, and absolutely delicious. Thank you!
